AD 1670
Beginning of fur trade in Canada.

AD 1730
Approximate date that Alberta Indians acquire horses and guns.

AD 1777-1778
First trading post on Lake Athabasca was established.

AD 1778 Fort Chipewyan was founded.

AD 1794
Fort Augustus was founded near the present site of Edmonton.

AD 1795

Edmonton House was founded as a Hudson's Bay Company fort in 1795, and was built next to Fort Augustus which belonged to their rival the North West Company.

AD 1818
Roman Catholic Church was established in western Canada.

AD 1834
Circa. Birth date of Anne Marie Cartier.

AD 1835
Influenza epidemic devastates aboriginal population in Saskatchewan and Alberta - Athabasca and Peace River Districts. Ghostkeeper name could have originated during this time.

AD 1840-1870
Migration of Metis North-West from the Red River Settlement. Disappearance of buffalo herds.

AD 1857
Birth of Colin Ghostkeeper at Stoney Point on Lesser Slave Lake.

AD 1874
Northwest Mounted Police arrive in Edmonton.

AD 1876–1877
Territorial rights acquired from the Indians by treaty.

AD 1885
North West Rebellion - Louis Riel 

AD 1893
Birth date of Adolphus Ghostkeeper.

AD 1870
Last Indian battles at Edmonton and Lethbridge. Small pox epidemic in Alberta.

AD 1899
Metis Land Claim Script taken by Ghostkeeper Family at Lesser Slave Lake. Used the surname of Collins on Script.

AD 1905
Province of Alberta created.
